Our service commitment is to deliver on time to suit pre agreed site programme requirements, saving the Contractor/Client time and money. We operate extremely versatile 9 tonne payload 4-wheeler vehicles with rear-mounted crane, equipped with brick grab and lifting straps.

Move of 19ft Wilderness tail boat from Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation to Ian Graham, builder of the boat, Wilderness Boats Corsham. It was a really educational day out for me. The loading of Tarka from slipway partly onto the trailer by winch. Then anchoring it by long straps to the bollards and reversing the trailer to pick up the boat was just the start. The entertainment that followed was after a short trip down the road, pulling into the small field entrance to the right and then manoeuvring the Landrover and trailer to a right angle, keeping the stern locked in place with the rear straps and using the gate post as a fulcrum to hold the boat while you went a foot or so ahead to pull Tarka precisely straight on the trailer. Then adjusting the straps to keep the boat in place for the journey to Wiltshire. The next technically instructive bit was your debate with Ian on the different ways of unloading Tarka. Eventually, you both agreed on a plan to partly unload onto prepared blocks using the tilt. With the stern down in place, long straps around the front of Tarka were linked to Ian's towbar and while you advanced slowly forward, Ian held the boat in place with the long straps until eventually, the whole boat was onto the planks. Brilliant. You did mention going to the lorry drivers advanced course to get other ideas. I suspect you may transpire to be one of the teachers!
